1. Scope
This Shipping and Logistics Policy applies to all material movement associated with BR Enterprise transactions, including:
- Pickup of scrap metal from seller locations across Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and pan-India.
- Delivery of MS Billets and steel products to re-rolling mills, fabricators, and buyers.
- Drop-off of scrap material at our facility: Shed No-2, Plot No-424/425, Gam Road, near Gandhi Farm, Gamdi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 382435.
- Third-party logistics arrangements facilitated by BR Enterprise on behalf of clients.
2. Inbound Scrap Collection — Pickup Service
BR Enterprise offers material pickup services for qualified scrap lots. The following conditions apply:
- Minimum lot size for free pickup: Ferrous scrap — minimum 5 MT. Non-ferrous metals — minimum 500 kg. Lots below these thresholds may be collected subject to a logistics recovery charge agreed in advance.
- Geographic coverage: BR Enterprise provides direct pickup across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Sanand, Mehsana, Anand, Nadiad, and surrounding areas within approximately 80 km of Gamdi. Pan-India logistics for larger lots (above 20 MT) can be arranged through our logistics network — contact us for rates.
- Pickup timeline: For confirmed lots (price agreed and lot verified), we typically schedule pickup within 24–48 hours. Complex logistics (rail rakes, large demolition sites) are scheduled on a case-by-case basis.
- Seller responsibilities for pickup: Material must be accessible for loading at the time of scheduled pickup. Additional wait time charges may apply if the vehicle cannot be loaded within 2 hours of arrival due to seller-side delays.
- Weighing for pickup lots: All pickup lots are weighed at BR Enterprise’s certified weighbridge upon arrival at our Gamdi facility. The seller receives a printed weight slip immediately. This is the weight used for payment calculation.
3. Self-Delivery to Our Facility
Sellers who choose to bring material directly to BR Enterprise’s facility should note:
- Operating hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. No material is accepted outside these hours without prior arrangement.
- Appointment recommended: For lots above 5 MT, we recommend calling ahead on +91-9825238100 to confirm unloading slot availability and avoid waiting time.
- Entry and weighing: All incoming vehicles are weighed at our weighbridge upon entry and after unloading. Net weight is automatically calculated. Driver receives printed weight slip.
- Accepted material: Only pre-agreed material categories are accepted. Lots with hazardous materials (paint drums, asbestos-containing components, radioactive scrap) are not accepted under any circumstances.
4. Outbound Delivery — MS Billets and Steel Products
For outbound delivery of MS Billets and steel products from BR Enterprise to buyers, the following applies:
- Delivery method: By road via covered trucks for smaller lots (up to 25 MT). Rail rake dispatch from our siding is available for larger orders (50 MT and above) to major steel centres.
- Delivery timeline: Standard delivery within Gujarat: 1–3 business days from dispatch. Pan-India delivery: 3–7 business days depending on destination. Exact timelines are confirmed at the time of order.
- Ex-works option: Buyers who wish to arrange their own transport may collect on an ex-works basis from our Gamdi facility after full payment clearance.
- Risk transfer: Risk of loss or damage transfers to the buyer upon loading of material onto the transport vehicle at our facility (for ex-works) or upon delivery and sign-off at the buyer’s location (for delivered basis).
- Delivery documentation: Every delivery is accompanied by: IS:2830 Chemical Analysis Certificate (heat number linked), Weighbridge Certificate, GST-compliant Tax Invoice, and Delivery Challan. Buyer must sign the Proof of Delivery (POD) on receipt.
5. Shipping Costs
Logistics cost treatment varies by transaction type and agreement:
- Scrap pickup from seller: For qualified lots (above minimum thresholds), pickup is provided at no charge to the seller within our standard coverage area. Extended logistics costs for distant locations are discussed and agreed before scheduling.
- Outbound billet/steel delivery: Freight costs are either included in the quoted price (delivered basis) or charged separately at actual logistics cost (ex-works + freight). This is clearly specified in each sales quotation.
- Urgent or special logistics: Rush pickups, weekend collections, or special-requirement logistics (cranes, flatbeds for heavy equipment) are chargeable at actual cost and must be agreed in advance.
6. Material Condition at Time of Pickup / Dispatch
BR Enterprise is not responsible for any deterioration in scrap material value due to:
- Weather exposure or moisture absorption between seller confirmation and pickup date.
- Mixing of confirmed material with additional scrap after price confirmation.
- Damage to material during seller-arranged transportation to our facility.
For outbound steel products, BR Enterprise ensures all material is properly secured and protected for transit. Transit insurance for high-value billet consignments (above ₹50 lakhs) can be arranged on request.
